Man arrested on suspicion of murder in Horncastle

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found unconscious at a property in Horncastle and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. We believe there are no outstanding suspects at this time.

We received a report that a 27-year-old woman had suffered serious injuries at a property on Warwickshire Way, Horncastle at 4.23pm today (Thursday 2 April).

This is an active investigation and there will be an ongoing police presence in the area while we work to establish the circumstances of this woman’s death.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy McWatt said: 

We are at the very early stages of our investigation and are keeping an open mind as to how this tragic incident unfolded. Our priority is to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death.

We are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything - no matter how insignificant it may seem - to contact us. Any piece of information could prove vital in helping us piece together exactly what happened and in securing justice for the victim.
